What I suspect is that the albums that are not the strongest selling releases by a certain band will end up there but I think a lot of it has to do with the label. I don't really know how some albums end up in the bargain bins. So folks I'm sorry to say even prog vendors won't be selling Semiramis' "dedicato a frazz" for 6 dollars anytime soon. The demand isn't so high so those who want it will pay 15-20 dollars for it. However, I don't see obscure prog being discounted because of the law of supply and demand. These days I think all cds should be discounted since they are selling less and less. Mike Rutherford- Acting very strange (I can see why this was discounted) Wetton/ Manzanera- same (speaking of Phil Manzanera) Also, it had a bit of a jazzy and even fusion element to which surprised me.īut if we can count discounted stuff and not necessarily "cut out" I bought these for all cheap on cassette tapes back in either the late eighties or 90's:Ĭamel- Snow goose, single factor, Mirage, nudeĨ01- Live (the album with Phil Manzanera on it) True it's not really a classic but there were some good things on it and made me realize there was more to this band that just the hits. ![]() The only one I remember owning on vinyl(actually my dad bought it for 99 cents)was the Allman Brother's "enlighted rogues." I don't know why the record executives thought it was such a crappy album that they had to cut a notch in it and sell it for so cheap. Oh man, there's a whole bunch of stuff I remember getting from the cut out bin.
